roku will not connect to wifi

my roku refuses to connect to my wifi. I have xfinity with a wireless router. I've restarted my wifi router both manually and through xfinity. ive checked my internet connection which is working for all my other devices. I've restarted my roku several times, and even done a factory reset. my wifi password is correct and has no difficult characters. no matter what I try, it gives me the following error message when attempting to connect to my wifi:

Unable to connect to wireless network: Error 014.30

any suggestions?

Re: roku will not connect to wifi

Xfinity routers have a known issue with their 2.4 GHz radio and Roku devices. If you lease your modem from Comcast, they lock you out of some settings, and you might need these changed. The first is the Mode setting. Comcast sets theirs at G/N, while for some reason they won't connect correctly with Roku devices unless it's set to B/G/N. The other issue might be the channel the modem self-selected. The 2.4 GHz radio should be on one of three different channels: 1, 6, or 11. By default, it's set to auto, and it chooses a channel on its own. But it doesn't always select the best one, so you might need to try a different one.

For both of those settings, you will have to contact Xfinity support if you lease your modem, as I do. If you purchased your own cable modem, you should have complete control of those settings.

Re: roku will not connect to wifi

My Roku also will not connect to the internet. I tried factory resetting the device, I restarted both my WiFi router and Roku. I’m lost, I have no clue what else to do.

Re: roku will not connect to wifi

This seems to be a big problem with all. I have done everything you have done several times and my roku will not connect to Wi-Fi.  I have several devices and they’re all connected to Wi-Fi. I am even showing my Wi-Fi is STRONG.

Yep. All my devices are working just fine, too.
I hope this can be fixed soon.

Re: roku will not connect to wifi

For all that are having difficulty connecting, you need to provide some additional information. First, what model Roku do you have, the model number, not just the name, as Roku reuses the same name on completely different hardware. Next, who is your ISP (cable company, phone company, shared WiFi in an apartment complex) and hopefully the make/model of your router/modem.

Next, exactly what is the error? Does your Roku see your WiFi, or is not not visible at all? If it sees your WiFi but isn't connecting, is there any error message?

While it's always possible there's a hardware issue with your Roku, it's also possible your ISP has changed a setting in your router/modem that is affecting your ability to connect. But we need to know more of the specifics to know what direction to look.
