i'm in a pickle. can't connect my second roku express to my bedroom tv. i bought a roku express for my bedroom tv. i've had one set up on my other 2nd tv for perhaps a year now and don't remember having any issues when i set it up originally. (it's been working fine) when i tried setting up the bedroom roku express it kept saying my password was invalid. so i took the working roku from my second tv and hooked it up to the bedroom tv...it worked perfectly. the first roku i tried in the bedroom was one i had purchased 6 months ago because the roku that is built into the samsung tv was giving me proplems...but i held of using it until the roku button on the tv remote just wouldn't work and connect anymore. so the roku express was still new in the box albeit 6 months old. i tried it on the 2nd tv and it still said my password was invalid. so i thought maybe the roku was just bad and i ordered another one. same problem, password is invalid and it won't connect to my netgear93 router. it clearly stats on the router that the password is..."password". i also went in to netgear on my computer. i attempted to change the password to "password" just to make sure the original password hadn't changed for some reason. however, it gave me a message saying i couldn't change the password to the default password so it verified that "password" is indeed still the original password for my router. i'm at a loss as to what to do at this point. the bedroom tv hooked up to the roku express from the 2nd tv is still working fine but neither of the 2 new roku express boxes will connect to my router. any thoughts?
What is the actual model number of your Netgear router (sticker on bottom of unit) and who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?
@luckyeddee, the password to log into your router may be "password", but that is almost certainly not your Wi-Fi password which you need to enter on your Roku. Log into your router to find the Wi-Fi password.
hi...thanks for your response. i figured out what the problem was. (though t took me a long time to wise up to it) in the right lower corner of the netgear box... there is another password for..."network key". turns out that was what i needed to use but stupid me didn't even notice it was there. it connected wireless when i used this password. oh well.
