minimum internet competence

EFA655DD-50C3-4E2F-B9C5-2757458F72E3.jpeg

I plan to buy a roku premiere 3920, my television does not support 4K and HDR, I will use it in 1080p resolution, but my internet speed is low (speed test was done with wi-fi), can this internet speed still play content? Roku Premiere (3920 series) (Ping:17 / Download: 6.64 / Upload: 0.64) Is dowload speed or upload speed more important when using Roku?

Re: minimum internet competence

Was this test run when there were no other net activities going on? If so, your download speed is just barely adequate for receiving an HD stream from most sources.

Better-compressed sources would probably be OK as long as there are not other activities (computer viewing of videos, downloading large files, more than one streaming device in use) stealing part of your bandwidth. Sources that are not as well compressed, such as on-the-fly compression of live broadcasts, may have trouble keeping up, resulting in buffering delays.
