Re: Won’t connect to wireless network

@jjordan1-

Might your router be one supplied by your internet provider? If so, your problem may have been caused by a recent update to your router.  This has been reported lately with equipment from Xfinity and Cox, but there may be others.

Affected users report the router configuration needs to be switched from g/n security back to b/g/n.  If you don't have access to your router's control panel you may have to have your internet provider do it for you.

@jjordan1-

What Roku model and model number is giving you this problem? Settings > System > About will show you.

Diffrent Roku models have different capabilities.  Since most posters don't tell us what Roku models they have when asking questions and reporting problems, I don't really know if the b/g/n thing affects all Rokus or just some models.  If I had to guess, I'd suspect it is mainly the lower end Express and Premiere models that have cheaper single-band wifi radios that connect only to the 2.4 GHz wifi band that have the problem, and that higher end models with more capable dual band radios supporting both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands (as all Roku TVs do) don't have the problem, but I don't really know.

Re: Won’t connect to wireless network

My Roku express has been working and then it just quit. The Roku screen comes on and when you make a selection Netflix, paramount +, etc. it just tells can not connect to my wireless WiFi. We put all the information it asked for and still won’t connect. We have 4 other tv’s in the house and no problem with those. Now 3 of those 4 are roku TVs. One in our living is not but works fine. The other one I am have problems with has the Roku express. Any ideas what I need to try next?

Re: Won’t connect to wireless network

I have a roku express. The model number is 3900RW. I have 2 of them and none of them are working, one of them connect for about a second but then disconnected again

Re: Won’t connect to wireless network

this worked for me (xfinity). did it myself via 10.0.0... admin gateway login, back to b/g/n.

2/3 of my rokus went out the same day, so i knew there must've been an update messing it up. thank you!
