I've got Verizon Fios (1 gig speed up & down) and lately keep getting disconnected and/or shut off from Roku streaming. WTF!? Why is this happening and how to fix it?
My roku will connect to internet then will go out and tell me no internet really frustrating when trying to watch tv
We are having the same issues with ROKU. Our other devices are connected but we have 4 ROKU devices that kick off the Verizon WIFI at the same time and won't reconnect without having to reboot the router. VERY FRUSTRATING and happens often
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model devices are you experiencing this issue?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
I am having the same problem with three different Roku TV’s. I’m on Xfinity router (about 6 months old) and I believe all of the TV’s are different manufacturers.
ive worked with xfinity - they can’t identify a problem. I’ve e rebooted everything - did a factory reset on 2 of the TV’s.
this is pretty bad - all three tv’s are out. I looked and there was no recent system update on the tvs or on the router.
please help! Also, I think Roku should be big enough now to transition to real customer service and not moderated forums
Thanks for the post.
Customers have reported that their issue stemmed from the router and once they were switched out the router, they were able to resolve the issue. Have you tried using another router to see if that helps what you are experiencing?
Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Danny
A very common problem is that the router is changing the channel it uses for WiFi to one unsupported by Roku devices. On the 2.4 GHz radio, the channel has to be 1-11. If it is using 12 or 13, Roku devices can't see it. On the 5 GHz radio, the channel has to be below 49 or above 148. In between those are what are labeled DFS channels, and Roku devices will not use those either.
Most routers are set to auto-assign a channel, and it can change that channel without you knowing it. If you set the channel manually, then it won't change.
