There's the rub: the new router was actually set at WPA2-Personal, but until I switched to the WPA2/WPA3-Personal setting the Roku Streaming Stick + failed to connect, failed to recognize the wifi connection (did not appear in the scan).
I hadn't seen that anywhere in this thread or elsewhere, and thought that may be a clue to resolving this lingering connectivity issue.
