I need help!! My Roku has suddenly decided that, despite an excellent signal connection, it won't pick up the Internet. It tells me it's connected etc but it's behaving as though it's offline and nothing will work. I'm using the same ISP etc and nothing has changed...I have restarted the Roku and the router to no avail. All other devices I use are connecting to the Internet just fine....any ideas????
Hi @BishBosh13,
It sounds like your Roku device may be having trouble connecting to your home network.
Could you please verify if you getting any error messages/codes when you are trying to connect your wireless network to your Roku device? What Roku model device are you using?
Try taking a look here for more tips about troubleshooting that network error code: How do I check the connection to my home network and the ...
I'd also recommend trying to connect your device to an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot.
Keep us posted with what you find out.
Thanks,
Mary
No, I think I have the same problem. I have a good signal and connect easily to my home network. But it doesn't last and it won't take the next step to get the internet. I've had all green check marks several times, only to find the connection gone when I try to get a channel going, or have a check suddenly change to an "x". The signal is always "good" - 3 Roku bars. Nothing. Like my friend above, I've tried everything suggested on the site more than once, and am now going in circles there. I've had error messages 018, 016, 08, one or the other, every time.
Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the note, Danny R.
You mean the page(s) I've been over and over to find a hidden way to solve this? Yes, I know the page very well. Please don't suggest I read any of these pages again. What else ya got? Because that page and every other one I've seen, has not had the solution to what appears to be a common problem with the product. DO these things wear out? If not, why would it suddenly, and I mean suddenly - overnight, be unable to connect to the internet? I know you get that question a lot, so the technology must not be up to what it claims to be. My internet speed hasn't changed an Mbps since the Roku was added, and ran perfectly for almost two years. I'll bet, like it also says in several places on your pages, it's just not gonna work any more, and I have to decide about a replacement. It wouldn't be this brand. But please let me know, so I can get back to business.
I am in the same boat, Roku streaming stick about 6 months old, no changes to anything. All other devices in home connect to network fine, no changes to any settings and will not connect. I even did factory reset on device and now I can see and 'connect' to home network with excellent signal however then I get a box asking me if I am at a hotel or college dorm or 'I am at home' regardless of selection I get error 003, unable to update. I did also connect to phone as hotspot and did a SW update that way but then when Roku stick rebooted was unable to connect to network using phone hotspot OR home Wifi. I have attempted at other network as well as other TVs and same issue regardless.
ANY help is appreciated as with the other posters above.
Thanks for the posts.
Can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to pass along the information to our Support team who can assist you with further troubleshooting.
Thanks,
