Streaming from amazon without a firestick on my roku tv?
I have 3 tvs in my house that we use amazon firesticks with, and our big TV is a roku tv that we have no firestick on. We recently purchased HBO MAX through our amazon app and can easily get it through our firesticks. When we attempted to watch HBO MAX on our big tv, we couldn't figure out how to do it. We downloaded the HBO MAX app, but no luck.
Do we have to have a firestick on our roku tv too, or is there a way we can access our amazon subscription through our roku tv without it?
Re: Streaming from amazon without a firestick on my roku tv?
You subscribed through Amazon and so you can view on Amazon Firestick devices. Had you subscribed through Roku you could view on Roku but not Firestick.
This is true in general for most (all?) channel services that you subscribe to through third parties. Your subscription is with the third party. not with the channel so it must be viewed via the third party's platform.
If you subscribe to the channel service directly on the service's own website you can view that channel on any platform the service supports -- the channel's website and any dedicated apps the channel may have released for Android, iOS, or specific streaming platform.
