Streaming Playback Constantly Interrupted on TCL TV

I have had a TCL Roku TV for about a year and use a wired connection to my fios router. We have gigabit service and the speed is consistently 500MB+ which should be more than sufficient for streaming on a single device.

The problem comes with streaming almost every service...including Hulu, MLB, NHL, Netflix, Peacock, and Paramount+. In some cases (e.g., Hulu) I can be 5-15 minutes into a program before it hangs and I get a message that there is a network error. Retry does nothing and I have tried the standard reset your router and network connection with no difference. For MLB I can get to the list of games, but when I select one I get a spinning baseball ball before it times out with a network error.

This is, as you can imagine, super frustrating and I don't know where to go with this. Could it be the TV? Verizon is useless beyond resetting my connection.

TBH I thought that going wired would eliminate these issues.

Simply, a good fast connection between you and your internet supplier cannot fix problems further upstream that occur before the data is sent in that last step to you.

Re: Streaming Playback Constantly Interrupted on TCL TV

Could be the TV; could be Verizon; could be Verizon's equipment.  It certainly shouldn't be happening with that connection.  Wired should be rock-solid, but just for fun you might want to try a wireless connection.  Taking a Roku to someone else's place to connect to a different network can be a useful troubleshooting technique, but it's much more difficult with a TV.
