Roku won't find device on the app

My Roku app wouldn't find device. Remote stopped working. Bought a fire stick. works perfectly. 2 years later wanted to see Weird Al movie. put Roku back in. still can't find any device. don't want to watch on my phone. Will not be using Roku or wasting any money on your products

Wouldn't it have been easier to buy a cheap universal remote (assuming you don't have a stick)?
