You didn't say which Roku device you have, which could make a huge difference.
Roku Express, for instance, can only connect on 2.4 GHz band. Also, some ISPs have changed the settings on provided wireless routers from 802.11 b/g/n to b/n, which will cause connectivity issues.
So, provide more information, such as Roku model number and OS [Settings > System > About] and your ISP and let's see where that leads.
