Roku won't connect to home wifi but will connect to my phone wifi

I bought a Roku Express and the model number is 3930X. The serial number for it is X00400U86EF2. I've tried everything that it says to do. I've been up all night trying to get it to connect to my home wifi network, it won't connect. The only wifi it'll connect to is my phone's hotspot. I really don't want to go and buy another Roku system after just buying this one. Please help.

Re: Roku won't connect to home wifi but will connect to my phone wifi

Your 3930 Express is a 2.4ghz-only device. (It will only connect to your 2.4ghz band, cannot/will not see or use your 5ghz band.)  The fact it is connecting to hotspot is a good sign that the Express is physically working and able to make a connection.

As such, you will need to verify that your 2.4ghz band is Enabled and broadcasting. (Make sure your ISP has not disabled it).

Additionally, if you have a cable ISP (Xfinity/Comcast, Cox, or AT&T), you will most likely have to configure your router's Wireless Mode settings to b/g/n in order for the Roku Express to connect.

Instructions for Changing the Router/Gateway Settings….

Xfinity / Comcast → ( https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi ) with a walkthrough ( https://community.roku.com/t5/Network-Wireless-Wired-Connections/Error-014-30-stuck-for-three-days/m...)

Cox → (https://www.cox.com/residential/support/managing-your-in-home-network-with-my-wifi.html)

AT&T → (https://www.att.com/support/article/u-verse-high-speed-internet/KM1046172). You can select your appropriate router from the drop down menu.

If the above is not applicable or you need more help, feel free to post back with ISP(internet service provider), your router model, and any error messages/numbers you are seeing on the tv screen.
