The Roku you are using only does 2.4 GHz. Exactly who is your ISP? Your modem needs to be configured properly to run. Try changing your router settings for 2.4 GHz band from g/n to b/g/n, as customers have stated that this helped resolve their issue. How long have you had this device for? You can purchase a new Roku which has dual band capability and is faster.
I’ve already done that and the issue still persists .
You did exactly all those steps? Have you restarted your Roku and modem? Run a check connection on your Roku. What does it say for signal strength and speed? How faster is your internet? How far away is your Roku to your modem?
Yes. I’ve done every step numerous of times. The signal strength says it’s excellent. My internet is very fast with very fast upload and download speeds . My modem and Roku aren’t that far apart from each other. Where as the one that works perfectly fine is further from the modem.
Please run a check connection test. What is the signal strength and download speed. It’s under network on your Roku settings
I’m not able to run a connection test because it won’t connect period. Again the signal strength says that it is excellent and my download speed is at a 600+mbps. I would rather speak to an actual person due to the fact I am very tech savvy and have tried multiple wireless troubleshooting steps with my wifi . There’s only so much I can do on the Roku device itself ( restart it or restart it back to factory setting ) which from previous people having this issue I won’t be doing because that doesn’t resolve it for them either and leave them stuck at the set up screen.
You never said you can’t connect. You said it unexpectedly disconnects. Anyone who is very tech savvy wouldn’t post a question on here. This is an open community. Did you try doing a factory reset?
It unexpectedly disconnects and does not reconnect after . I posted on here because it’s impossible to physically talk to someone about this issue as the agent support does not support speaking about this . Being tech savvy doesn’t mean I can’t asks questions in an “ open “ community. Especially if I’ve done the same steps others have done who is having this same exact issue.
Your Roku is out of warranty. It was released about 4 years ago. You can buy a new Roku for $40. There are people who know a lot in here. See if they chime in but They will tell you the exact same things I’ve been telling you. AvsGunnar is very Knowledgeable but he will tell you the same thing. If my $30 Roku could no longer connect to my WiFi I wouldn’t even bother doing anything. Throw it out and buy a new one. They are cheap
