Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

I wish I could go to settings and do all of that, but I cannot go any further than Internet connection screen to try that.

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

First off, stop cursing. I don't curse. Second, incorrect spelling of my name. Third, no helpful information about this issue.

In short, I have no idea who you are.

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

Thank you for the added information, @JaredG24.

In this case, could you please confirm if your Roku Premiere is still capable of scanning and detecting other available network connections? If so, and you aren't able to connect it to your personal network connection only might have something to do with the signal strength of it. Please be aware that to get the best streaming experience with your Roku player, a strong network connection is the key.

We suggest connecting your Roku Premiere to an alternative network connection to see if it will connect successfully. Perhaps a mobile hotspot would do.

We'll be anticipating your update as we are more than eager to help you connect to a network connection and get back on streaming.

Best regards,
Carly

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

Unfortunately, there are no other WiFi signals in my area. I live on a mountain top which gets phone signal type Internet. For whatever reason, the signal is picked up by my Xbox, laptop and phone, but not the Roku.

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

@JaredG24,

Thanks for the update!

Could you confirm with us if a mobile hotspot does work? We'd like to know to know if this helps as a workaround in this case.

Please keep us posted!

Thanks,

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

The router is sitting in one spot. It's T-Mobile's router.

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

Hi @JaredG24,

Thank you for keeping us posted here in the Roku Community!

We appreciate you letting us know about your problem with your Roku device, which is not detecting any Wi-Fi signal. We will work with you to know what went wrong so we can assist you further and fix the issue. Please be advised that a mobile hotspot is where you can access the internet wirelessly using a mobile device. Most hotspots work by using cellular data to connect devices, such as Roku devices, to the internet via Wi-Fi. If your mobile hotspot is detected, it will mean that your Wi-Fi signal on your router is the one that can't be detected by the Roku device.

You can also try to reset your network connection on your Roku device to see if it does anything. Follow the steps below:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll and select Settings.
  3. Select Advanced System Settings.
  4. Select Network Connection Reset.
  5. Select Reset Connection.

Let us know how it goes, and we'll be glad to further assist you.

Kind regards,                                                                                                                                    Eunice

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

@JaredG24

If you are using a TMobile Askey 5G Gateway (turn the "router" over and see if you see ASK and some numbers in the model name), you should be able to access your router settings using any web browser by typing in 192.168.12.1 (that should open your router's admin portal).  that sticker will also have your network password (admin portal password), your SSID password and your SSID network name.

If you are sure you are using the correct SSID password with your 3920 Premiere, then just go into the Settings and change the SSID password under the 2.4ghz WIFI settings. (you can change the password under both "Basic" or "Advanced").

Just make the password something simple (no special characters, hyphens, etc.  Just use numbers and letters).  Then press Save Settings in the gateway/router and perform a system reboot on both the Tmobile gateway and the Roku device. (unplug both for 15 secs or so and plug them back in).

Alternatively, if you do not want to change your 2.4ghz password initially, you can enable your Guest Network under the same Wifi Settings sections and use the simple 8 character password suggestion made above. (again, just letters and numbers, no special characters).

---

This should hopefully address your 14.50 error message.  If still having issues, post back with your actual T-mobile router number.  There are some additional settings that may require you to disable the SON (self-organizing network/mesh features) in order to seperate the two network bands (2.4ghz and 5ghz).  Just note that when SON is enabled, all password changes must be done to the 2.4ghz band. (the 5ghz band will automatically use the 2.4ghz password).

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

I have reset my router many times and the results are the same. On my TV screen, when trying to connect my Roku to the wifi, nothing shoes up. There are no options to choose from, no need to reset the Roku device, because it's new.

I hope this clears up any confusion.

Re: Roku premiere can't see the WiFi signal

@JaredG24, it appears you completely ignored everything @AvsGunnar said.  If he can't help you with your T-mobile router, no one can.  The problem is most likely with your router.
