Hey guys my Roku won’t connect to my internet even though I’ve restarted the Roku and my router MULTIPLE TIMES. My phone and Mac book are connected to the internet just fine. HELP!!
Do you have a router from Comcast/Xfinity or Cox? If so change the wireless mode from g/n to b/g/n.
I have a Cox router, my roommate has the login, I’ll have to get it and try doing that! I’ll let you know if it works in the morning! Thank you!
I’m having same issue but I don’t understand the changes you recommended
@Map2821, if your ISP isn't Comcast/Xfinity or Cox then it doesn't apply. If it is one of those, Xfinity has an app you can use to changer your router's settings. There should also be a sticker on the router indicating how to log into it using a username and password. You'll find the setting under the Wi-Fi settings. You may also be able to call your ISP and have them change the setting for you.
Hello, I'm having the same issue but we have AT&T. I restarted the device multiple times, restarted the router multiple times, and then I restored the Roku to factory settings, and it still won't connect. All other devices are connected to Wifi. We've been using it for a month or so then it just stopped connecting.
@NPettipas, what happens when you try to connect? Do you get any error messages? What is the model number of your Roku device shown under Settings->System->About?
I can't do those steps because the device is restored, I can't get past the wifi screen. It asks me to type in the password and then it tells me it is unable to connect, to check the password, wifi network name or restart the device. It sounds like its suggesting I'm putting in wrong information. But I noticed now my iPhone won't connect, but all other devices in the house are still connected to the wifi. its just the Roku that won't connect and now my phone. So it sounds like its a wifi issue, but at the same time, why are all the other devices fine in the house? Maybe I need to enable that 2.4ghz thing someone mentioned in the comments here?
I "think" we have a Roku express, the model on the device says 3930X.
@NPettipas, yes it's an Express, but the model number is always better than the name since Roku reuses names over and over again. It will only connect to 2.4GHz, but if your network shows up when it scans then 2.4GHz must be enabled.
I have AT&T fiber, but I don't use their router except as a bridge to my own. If yours is the same as mine, you should be able to go to http://192.168.1.254 to see the status. AT&T also has an app and online management tool , but I've never used them. Try the link I gave and see what the status has to say about 2.4GHz. I don't think you need a password just to check the status, but if you do it should be written on a sticker on the router.
