What's the model number of your Roku device as displayed under Settings->System->About and what exactly happens when you try to connect?

Some Roku models (notably Express/Express+ with model numbers below 3940 and Premiere/Premiere+ with model numbers below 4620) can only work in the 2.4 GHZ WiFi band and cannot see the 5 GHz WiFi band at all.
Be sure your hotspot is configured to use the 2.4 GHz band to assure compatibility with all Roku models.
