Hello I need some help as well. The Roku I have will only work when I connect it using the hotel or dorm option. Even though it is connected in a house. I have tried the house option and it tells me it is connected to the internet then will not load or open anything. such as Netflix or Disney plus. Both will tell me I am not connected when using the house option. I even did the trouble shooting on both apps and the Roku settings. all said I was connected to the internet. Yet when I use the hotel or dorm option everything loads no problem but the connection will not stay for longer than a few days before needing to be set up again.
I have tried a hard reset of the Roku, updating the apps, deleting and re downloading the apps, as well as resetting the router. nothing has worked.
Thanks
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you using? Have you tried changing the wireless channel on your router? Have your already rebooted your wireless network?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
Danny I am on free WiFi no router
Thanks for the follow up.
Can you please clarify how you are connecting to a wireless network if you are not using a router? Are you connecting to a mobile hotspot? A public wireless network?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny

We would recommend reaching out to Xfinity to see what further assistance they can provide regarding using your hotspot to connect to your Roku device.
Please keep us posted what you find out.

Thanks for the inquiry.
For more information about how to change your wireless channel on your router, we would recommend contacting the manufacturer support for your router device as they would best be able to assist you with that.
Thanks,
Danny
Roku - I am wondering - just wondering if the problems we are having is being caused by Xfinity. Afterall they do have their own streaming thing now. It would be interesting to find out. Maybe you should be asking - what is the wifi carrier. Btw - same problem and mine is Xfinity.
