The Roku is showing in the setting section that wifi and internet connection are ok during a check of connection settings. Wifi is showing strong connection. Unable to get any of the channels to download. Hitting the * key the Roku device says there is no internet connection despite the system check saying that there is both wifi and internet connection. Checking with my tablet I can see the wifi connection is working and I am able to access the internet. None of the usual fixes seem to work - turning systems (both modem and Roku) and resetting everything both manually and via settings including a program entry and re-set changes nothing. How can the roku system say there is both wifi and internet connection during a system check but the back door of using the Star * key show no internet connection an dhow do I fix this. This happening to 2 Roku systems in the household (2 different TVs)
Thanks for the post.
Have you tried connecting your devices to an alternate wireless network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you are experiencing the same issue?
Please keep us posted what you find out.
Thanks,
Danny
We are having The exact same problem in our home today on three tvs with 3 roku devices suddenly not connected to internet. Help. The wifi working on other devices in the home.
@Yurtsville, have you rebooted your modem/router? Unplug the power for several seconds and then plug it back in. After a few minutes try your Rokus again.
It seems Xfinity is putting a stop to this down loaded Xfinity hot spot on my Roku. Says not supported when I enter the numbers. Big Business is stopping small guys again.
I have 5 roku devices in my home and 3 of them stopped connecting to the internet. Did all of suggestions and the 3 will not connect.
Same here, I thought my express had just failed after resets, powering down router, etc… so I went out and got an Ultra tonight and the same thing, it will not connect to any xfinity signal although full strength, 4 feet away.
My Roku in my living room suddenly disconnects from WiFi I been trying to get it back connected my up stairs TVs are fine.. is there a glitch that could be going on
@RokuDanny-R
This is not a fix or an appropriate response from a Roku Employee. You don't know what Roku device is being used, or anything specific about the setup, but you automatically point the finger at the router/modem/internet etc ... not a good look for Roku ... I have 25 devices all connected to the internet at my home and all have worked flawlessly except for one ... I'll let you guess which one ... a hint ... it starts with Roku ...
Normally I would agree with you but after switching out the unit and getting the same response and being able to use the wifi system and internet with a tablet everywhere else the server is the only unresolved variable
