My new Roku Express 4K is still on the same page since I plugged it in my tv. This is not my first Roku so I know how to connect and the others connected fine. After selecting English it goes to Wireless scan..... Looking for wireless networks. It has been on this for hours. My internet is on and I even unplugged it and restarted it to be sure the connection was good. I am still waiting for this to get to where I can pick my network. Please help me.
Unsure if express 4k supports both 2.4ghz and 5ghz WiFi, and whether it supports all WiFi channels. May need to check that on router.
Or the new device is defective out of the box, return for a replacement.
Thanks for the post.
I would recommend checking out our Support page for troubleshooting issues here: What should I do if I cannot connect to my home network or the internet?
Please answer the following questions so we can get a better understanding of what you are seeing:
- Have you ensured your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to? The Roku Express is only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum.
- Have you tried changing the wireless broadcast channel on the router to see if this will allow your device to connect?
- Have you tried moving the device closer to your router to see if you can get connected?
- How long have you been experiencing this problem?
If those things still aren't helping, feel free to provide us with the serial number of your Roku from Settings>System>About along with the answers to the above questions and I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
Just got this, and first I have to say that the complete lack of any support options other than to post to the community is a complete disgrace. So basically this product has no support other than what its customers provide. Anyway, I have the same issue this POS product will not connect to any wireless network, just been searching for hours. Have rebooted it, moved it, checked to make sure my 2.4g network is active….nothing.
Check that all 2.4ghz security options avail (b/g/n).
Otherwise defective, return to retailer for replacement.
