Roku capability at Gig speeds?

I'm using a Roku Ultra connected via ethernet to a Netgear Nighthawk router with Gigabyte service by my ISP.  I see these speeds on other device on the same network with other devices.  Why wont my Roku device show nothing beyond what looks like Gig service,  What I see seems to max out at what would be expected of a wireless connection.

Is that what this Roku device can do?  What about buffering capability, is that similarly impaired?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Roku capability at Gig speeds?

Roku's are designed for Internet streaming. They don't need much more than 25-30M, even for 4K. The speed test built into them typically won't show much more than that. Although streaming local video could require higher speeds, that is a rather tiny fraction of Roku users.
