Same problem. I can see all other wifi in my area, all my other devices can see my wifi SSID but the ROKU cannot see my wifi SSID! This is not my first trip around the block with a ROKU device having a similar problem with wifi. Sometimes I'm able to get around the problem by going to a wired network but the ROKU TV's don't have that option. I'm beginning to think there has to be a better product out there somewhere.

Like hutchny said, for those who have OpenWRT firmware installed on their router, uncheck "Allow legacy 802.11b rates" in Advanced Settings:

For those who don't have OpenWRT, the other thing to try is to try changing the channel that your router is on, from @AvsGunnar :
"For Roku, the 2.4gz network is located between channels 1 and 11 and use b/g/n signals. N more so than the others. For 5gz network, the network channels are 36-48 and 149-165. Each of these have their own frequencies. If your router (network) are not using these channels, it cannot see Roku. If these channels are not configured properly, your router (network) will not see Roku."
Same issue here. TCL Roku 50s423 worked 8 months ago. Went on Holiday and now it won't see my home network. IP on system showing 0's. Has a MAC address showing on Television. I can connect via Hotspot on Iphone. I can mirror my Laptop to the TV no problem. It identifies other SSID's in my neighbourhood just not my home network. My ISP router has no Mac filters and no security firewall currently. ROKU's service tech answered that any TV manufacturer issues are reported to ROKU's engineers...........Not very helpful!!!
I'm guessing you're not in the US. Be aware that Rokus only support Wi-Fi channels that are supported in the US and non-DFS 5GHz channels (if they support 5GHz at all). If your router's channel is set to "Auto" it's quite possible that it switched to an unsupported channel. Set it to a fixed channel - 1 to 11 for 2.4GHz or a low or high channel for 5GHz (sorry, I can't remember the actual numbers, but the ones in the middle aren't supported).
Thx for the Reply. Yes I'm in Canada. Channel set to 1. MAC addresses switched to allow all. TCL support has been great as well as my ISP provider. All perplexed by this. Only thing left is to take the TV to another location to see if this problem persists and its a TV issue or....It connects at an alternate Home network and its a router issue.

Did you try temporarily connecting it to your phone set up as a mobile hotspot? That should be easier than taking the TV to another location.
Thanks @renojim! My roku lost the wifi after a power outage. It was the frequency! The "auto" setting caused the router to reboot on a different 5G frequency than the device supports. I locked the router into 153Mhz and it works just fine now.
I never would have guessed that it was the frequency, nor what the correct ranges are. Thank you.
I have been having the same issues with one of my Roku premier that cannot find any networks and when I enter my private network name and password it does not find my private network. I have followed all of the steps outlined multiple times and it has not solved the problem. There are no issues with signal strength and I have 2 other devices located in the same area that are working without any issues. The premier just stopped working several days ago and I need support or help in resolving this problem. I have reviewed all of the same entries by other people yet there is no response from ROKU other than to respond in private and not a solution for the community to read and view to solve the issue. This is poor support and customer service.
Hi,
I got tired of the run around from the TV manufacturer and ROKU. I installed a Powerline adapter (see amazon.ca link below) which extends a wired ethernet connection via your home electrical system to the TV which no longer recognized my wireless network.
Cheap fix but not something I should have to deal with outside of the customer service support. They should have recommended this "fix" and paid for it.
Thanks for the post.
I would recommend checking out our Support page for troubleshooting issues here: What should I do if I cannot connect to my home network or the internet?
Please answer the following questions so we can get a better understanding of what you are seeing:
- Have you ensured your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to? The Roku Premiere is only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum.
- Have you tried changing the wireless broadcast channel on the router to see if this will allow your device to connect?
- Have you tried moving the device closer to your router to see if you can get connected?
- How long have you been experiencing this problem?
If those things still aren't helping, feel free to provide us with the serial number of your Roku from Settings>System>About along with the answers to the above questions and I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
