Roku can't find dorm wifi or hotspot wifi

Before leaving for Chirstmas break my roku was nicely connected to my university wifi and I had never had any issues. However, I unplugged it while away from school and returned to having to reconnect it to the internet. However, now the roku cannot find my school wifi. I assumed maybe it was a connection issue, but my phone hotspot is giving me similar issues. The roku can find networks just not any that are nearby

What's the model number of your Roku displayed under Settings->System->About?  Some Roku devices only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.  Make sure your hotspot is using 2.4GHz and a channel from 1 to 11.
