Roku TV continually disconnecting from Wi-Fi

So apparently this has been an issue going on for several freaking years. I see people commenting messages here continually, and Roku has yet to give us a solution. If they cannot fix this problem, they should be required to give every single person with this issue their money back. I honestly feel like everybody needs to come together, and pursue doing something about this because electronics are not cheap. This is getting to be ridiculous!

Re: Roku TV continually disconnecting from Wi-Fi

The MOST common issue with connectivity is channel congestion though few are aware of the impact. I highly recommend you install WiFi Analyzer for Android, or something similar from the App Store. Once installed, open the app and you'll see how many others use the same channel/band. Then log into the router, DISABLE the "auto" feature for channel selection and enter a channel that's less congested. And don't forget to hit 'save' or 'apply' once you've changed it.  And if this occurs again, rely on the app to show you the best channels

Re: Roku TV continually disconnecting from Wi-Fi

Do you have roaming (802.11r) or fast roaming enabled on your network. If so turn it off and it should resolve your problem.

Re: Roku TV continually disconnecting from Wi-Fi

Welcome to the Roku Community! @Jevans1977

I understand this is very inconvenient for you, and I'm eager to help. Could you share more info so we can help sort out this connectivity problem?

  • Have there been any recent changes to your network or provider?
  • What error message or code do you see when trying to connect?
  • How far is your device from your network router?
  • Have you observed any recent software updates before this happened?

For now, try connecting to a mobile hotspot to see if the issue is with your internet provider or if it’s your Roku TV.

Please update us on your findings.

Thanks,

The Roku Community Team
