Hello. Currently my Roku Streaming Stick + is no longer "seeing" my 5g Wifi Network. It used to when I first got this SS+ several months ago, but now for some reason it only sees my Verizon 2.4g and "guest" wifi networks but not 5g even though I do multiple "scans" for different wifi networks. The SS+ is literally 25 feet away from my 1ghz router and my other devices like my iPhone and other media DO see the 5g network (and I am using it for my iPhone)..
Can someone please offer an explanation what is going on and why no matter what I try (yes I rebooted my router several times but again other devices CAN see the 5g..) even rebooting the SS+, removing from power and reconnecting, no updates available, etc., I still cannot see the 5g network.
Please help!
Thank you
MJ
Go into your router's settings and take the 5GHz channel off of "Auto". Choose a channel below 50 or above 150.

Hi and thanks for replying. this is what I see for 5G channels. See below screenshot. So you are saying for 5G1 change it from Ch. 100 (Auto) to 49 or 151?? Thanks!!
Yep! It doesn't have to be 49 or 151, just any one below or above those.

hi! will try that. just wondering why there are 2 5gs listed. there never used to be.. maybe that is having an impact?
Thanks!
fixed my issue where i saw that the SSID for the 2.4Ghz and SSID for the 5Ghz 2 were the same, so I assume that was causing a conflict and having the 2.4Ghz superseding/bypassing the 5g network.. Once I changed the 5ghz 2 SSID to a more unique name, I was able to see both the 2.4 and 5G networks in the Roku SS+ listing of available networks.. Weird but I think that was due to the recent FW upgrade by Verizon Fios which created the tri-band 2.4g, 5g1 and 5g2 wifi networks which would cause an issue if someone (like me) turns off / disables their SON..
