Hello I'm having to stay at a local hotel due to an electric fire in our house which has made it uninhabitable. I was able to take my Roku Streaming Stick * with me along with the HDMI wire it came with. Never had any issues at home but now the stick stops working intermittently. It tells me this there are errors or that it just goes blank. Usually after about 10 -20 min's of it working that happens. It doesn't seem like much but with the fire we had and trying to find a place to stay. Is there something I'm not doing that would help fix this? I see the light is on and again it does work just doesn't stay connected. I had used this same stick at my daughter's apartment and it was completely fine. I think it's the hotel.
I also took a picture of the connection and I can send the photo of it to help.
Thank you so much, I look forward to hearing back from you.
Laurie
Thanks for the post.
How are you connecting to the hotel wireless network? Are you using the Hotel & Dorm Connect feature on your Roku device?
For more information about Hotel & Dorm Connect, visit our Support page here: How do I use Hotel & Dorm Connect to connect to the internet?
Please keep us posted what you find out.
Thanks,
Danny
Hi Danny,
Thank you for trying to help me. I have been trying to use the hotel/dorm connection. I've put the wifi network and password and then followed the steps after, however, it doesn't allow me to actually be online therefore I am unable to have the choice to enter hotel room number etc cause i'm not online. Nothing comes up at all. On safari it freezes and on firefox it just says somethings wrong.
I will say that I can watch the Youtube channel via my roku and it doesn't time out or stop like HBO, Netflix, Amazon, Discover,
Due to the house fire it seems I will be staying in a hotel indefinitely and to be able to use my roku is truly one of the only sources of comfort I have currently.
Thank you for your time,
Laurie

Hi there, I haven’t heard from anyone as of yet and it’s now Wednesday. I have used the directions on the hotel/dorm info page however I still have to restart all streaming channels including Roku Channel which I have some channels I subscribe but can’t watch. I have to restart every 10 min’s or so EXCEPT when I use YouTube or Amazon Prime which makes no sense to me. Please please help me. It’s a small thing but being able to watch shows that comfort me in times of crisis such as I am in brings a lot of safety to me.
Thank you
Laurie

I have checked and didn’t see anything from them. I’m really getting frustrated. I updated and redid the connection. Same. The channels stop at about 10 mins in and I need to restart. Again it doesn’t happen with YouTube or Amazon prime. Both of which I watch from the roku stick *
Hi Danny, i haven't heard anything back. I've updated the software and restarted but hasn't changed the issues. I can watch roku off my laptop without any issues and my laptop is connected to the same WIFI network at my streaming stick.
