Roku Express will not connect if SSID not broadcast

I have 2 Rokus the express from Cmas of 2019 and the Roku LE from 2021 Black Friday sales “Walmart exclusive”…. Lol. Neither one will connect to my hidden network. It happened after the 10.0 update. The express model used to connect even to my hidden network prior to any of the 10.0 updates. May need to figure that one out Roku wizards.

Re: Roku Express+ will not connect if SSID not broadcast

Hey @Jsgaguilera

Thanks for the post.

Please be advised that Roku Express and Roku Premiere are only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum. Ensure that your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to. You can check your device model by navigating to Settings > System > About.

You can also try configuring your router and use wireless channels 1, 6, or 11 which are the preferred channels in North America. Each time you change the wireless channel, you will likely need to apply/save changes before you are prompted to restart the router.

Let us know if there's any difference after.

All the best,
Kariza

@Jsgaguilera

As @RokuKariza-D indicated in her response, verify that your Mode/Protocol is set to b/g/n in your router settings (especially if you have Xfinity, Comcast, Cox), and that your 2.4ghz is still Enabled.
