I have 3 Roku units, 2 of them are the Roku Express and it appears that I cannot get a connection with them, but I can connect using an older model. I am wondering if Roku is having issues with a particular model, or is Comcast doing something on the end to disable them? Is it a software issue? I know Comcast is competition, and perhaps they are doing something to discourage from using ROKU on a Comcast network. Any thoughts or tips on how I can get online.
There's not much to go on with so few specifics, but the Express (assuming it's not an Express 4K) is a 2.4GHz-only model and maybe the other model is not. Comcast upgraded my parents' gateway recently and silently turned off their 2.4GHz, so I had to go over and turn it back on.
The 2 Express Models have serial # that begins with an X. The Roku that I bought back in 2017 begins with a Y. It makes believe that it's a software issue that is causing it. Thanks for the info.
I'm not sure how good my serial number to model number sleuthing ability is but a Roku bought in 2017 starting with Y might be a streaming stick 3810 which is dual band. (So it could still work if 2.4GHz was turned off.)
