Hello, I have just purchased a Roku express plus. I use a splitter off of my 1080i from the back of my television set. I cannot get a satellite avatar to appear on my roku home screen and have to choose between my satellite and roku lineup. This is not right and I need help; please! Thanks, Ted.
Its is right, just not what you're wanting.
It sounds like you're expecting a separate input selector icon much as you'll find on a Roku TV. But you don't have a Roku TV, you have a Roku Express+ that is using one of the HDMI inputs on your TV. At least, I think that's what you're doing.
You mention a splitter off your TV. Do you mean a coupler (two separate signals coming together)? Or do you mean a switch (two separate inputs coming to the TV and you switching between them)? I'm really unclear about this.
Generally, one would have the Roku connected to one HDMI input on the TV, and the satellite device connected to another input, then switch between them via an input selector on the TV.
Perhaps I'm not understanding something about what you're trying to do.

Just adding that I also have satellite and Roku and the two things don't know anything about the other. (Or about the other things that are connected.) But it all works fine that way.
For sure, if you are out of inputs, you need a switch, not a splitter.
