I have 5 Roku express devices - all in same location, all on same network. They are in guest mode (although I have same problem when not in guest mode). All devices have worked perfectly for over a year. Recently, when the device reboots (like when guest signs out) it looks for updates - which it can't find - and then it prompts to connect to Network because it can't find network connection. In summary, each time the device reboots it loses current network connection. I am running a Linksys Velop mesh network.,.....before everyone gets worked up about mesh networks 1.) This has worked seamlessly for over a year 2.) I created a guest network which is 2.4Ghz and have same problem. 3.) I tested on a non mesh network and have same issue. Help please - this is a royal PIA with guests!

Thanks for responding - the problem is not on my end. Absolutely nothing changed recently on my end however an update was released by Roku which caused my devices to lose the network connection on reboot - this happens every time a guest reaches their checkout date or if the guest chooses to logout early. I can reproduce the problem repeatedly and consistently. The device will start by trying to "Install Final Updates" - this remains at 0% and fails at which point you are prompted to either 1.) Setup a Network Connection 2.) Restart the Device 3.) Factory Reset
With a bunch of tinkering and many many 4 letter words - I was able to fix the problem. Here's the fix:
1.) Log into your Roku account via the Roku website.
2.) Navigate to your device(s) and "Turn of Guest Mode"
3.) Restart the same Roku device and allow it to "Finish Installing Updates"
4.) Go back to the device in the Roku website and enable Guest Mode.
5.) Restart the Roku device.
Hi @Cgolembeski,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
We'd like to take a closer look into this issue that you're having with the Roku Express. May we know how far your Roku Express is from your network router? Did we recently make any changes to your network or network provider?
With detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
John
