Before I buy a Roku Express 4k 2021 model I need to know if it supports screen mirroring from an Android Huawei tablet. I believe it is Miracast and not chromecasting. I have a device for casting already and my tablet only supports mirroring display. I don't own any apple devices so airplay is out of the question.

Yes, all Roku devices support Miracast-based screen mirroring (Huawei often refers to it as "Wireless Display" in their settings).
Miracast is hit and miss. I've personally never used it, but many have, and it's wonky at best. Android itself no longer supports Miracast. Any Android devices that use it are outside of Android OS are on their own, from Android 6 (Marshmallow) onward.
Best advice is to move to either Google Cast protocol or AirPlay protocol. Or contact Huawei directly if you really want to use Miracast.

Thank you for the thorough response. My problem is that my Huawei matepad 10.4 BAh3-W09 tablet does not support Google services even with work arounds the support is not native so chromecasting doesn't seem to work at all.
I've tried casting with several apps for my Nvidia shield which has Chromecast built in so I'm assuming my tablet supports Miracast only. The tablet has a feature called Huawei share and wireless projection (this could be Miracast) I can't get the tablet to view my Nvidia shield pro so was hoping to buy a Roku 4k express for that added benefit mainly.
Tablet is on Android 10 as well.

I bit the bullet and bought an Express 4k Roku and yes it seems like screen mirroring works fine with it when I press the cast button off YouTube but does not work on my Nvidia shield for some reason. I'm sure this is chromecasting and not mirror displaying. I had to download a web video caster app but it worked 😊

You are "casting" (not "mirroring") using a protocol called DIAL (which all Rokus also support) from YT.
The Shield's YT app also supports DIAL (its supported on all platforms for YT/YTTV) for casting, try rebooting both your phone/tablet PC and your Shield (and/or your modem/router/gateway if necessary).
"Chromecasting" would be using the GoogleCast (ChromeCast) protocol (either for casting or mirroring), and only applies to devices with Chromecast support.
Thank you for the clarification you are correct. I've tried rebooting the shield and my Huawei tablet but it still does not detect the Nvidia shield pro. My phone which is a Xiaomi mi 9 detects the shield always without any problems and my other Samsung S20 also can detect when pressing the cast button on videos.
I'm assuming the Huawei tablet does not detect the Shield pro due to Nvidia being an American company and Google Android with the US ban etc
Te tablet works perfect with the Roku by using a web video caster app installed on the Roku and on my tablet.
Also wanted to add screen "mirroring" works from my Huawei tablet to Roku. Displaying my tablets screen but don't bother using that as when playing videos the tablets screen cannot be switched off.
