Hey roku 4k power cord not long enough to plug directly into the wall . What would be the best way to hook this up I tried connecting it to my blu-ray player it plays for about 20 minutes then powers off.
Re 20 minute issue:
Did your Roku receive the update to Roku operating software 10.5 that is currently rolling out? Settings > System > System update will show you. (While you're there you can click Check now to receive any pending updates for your unit.)
Roku 10.5 has added a new Power item in the Settings > System menu for some Roku models. If you have this Power item, under Auto power savings see if deactivating After 20 minutes of no interaction fixes the problem.
In case it comes up before getting a resolution, there isn't a "Roku 4K" meaning you likely have one of these:
That may make a difference.
Since the power cord won't reach an outlet, you have a few options, ranging from simple to complicated, but the best is whatever works better overall for you.
There's a power extension cord. That's why they make them. You may even get a power adapter with a long cord. Most come with short cords, but you can find 10' or longer ones.
You could get a longer USB cable (depending on the Roku model) provided it's not a Stick, which have the WiFi antenna in the USB cable. You don't want to lose that.
You could get a USB extension. Again, why they are made.
Your TV is plugged into something. If your situation is that the TV plugs into one outlet, but you need to go to a different outlet for the Roku, you could put a power strip in the outlet closest to the TV and plug the TV, Roku, and other devices into it.
Or, you could have an electrician put in a new outlet closer to the TV. Told you it could become complicated.
There may be other solutions, but this is what comes to mind.
