For months I have successfully been using my Roku3 via Wi-Fi router extender on my home network (2.4GHz Wi-Fi network). Without any reason, one day the home network connection was lost, main router and extender. No connection display on Roku.
It does not list my home network as a connection option, even if I type it in manually. It recognises the neighbour’s wireless connection, it also recognises my mobile network 3G router, etc. but no success of even listing my home network.
My home network work 100% for my laptop, other portable devices, printers, DSTV, smart TV, etc.
I tried the following without any luck:
Plugged Roku3 out of the wall socket, various time, each time for longer periods, 1min. 5min, etc.
Restart the router and extender, various times.
Restart the Roku via setting.
Factory reset the Roku (paperclip button).
Located the Roku next to the main router, i.e., bypass the extender.
Even tried the options also via Roku remote (5xhome, FFW, Play, Rewind, Play, FFW).
It is as if my Home Network was “blocked” and won’t list it as an option. Other Wi-Fi network options (as mentioned) is listed.
You can also try configuring your router and use wireless channels 1, 6, or 11 which are the preferred channels in North America. Each time you change the wireless channel, you will likely need to apply/save changes before you are prompted to restart the router.
