For months I have successfully been using my Roku3 via Wi-Fi router extender on my home network (2.4GHz Wi-Fi network). Without any reason, one day the home network connection was lost, main router and extender. No connection display on Roku.
It does not list my home network as a connection option, even if I type it in manually. It recognises the neighbour’s wireless connection, it also recognises my mobile network 3G router, etc. but no success of even listing my home network.
My home network work 100% for my laptop, other portable devices, printers, DSTV, smart TV, etc.
I tried the following without any luck:
It is as if my Home Network was “blocked” and won’t list it as an option. Other Wi-Fi network options (as mentioned) is listed.
Your assistance will be appreciated.
Check that 2.4ghz is still enabled on your home WiFi, and the "simpler" connection standards are enabled, also Roku does not support all 2.4ghz channels, reset to a more common one.
Full details of roku WiFi support elsewhere on this site try searching.
Thanks for the post.
If you are getting an error code or message, refer to this link for common Roku error codes and their recommended actions: What should I do if I cannot connect to my home network or the internet?
You can also try configuring your router and use wireless channels 1, 6, or 11 which are the preferred channels in North America. Each time you change the wireless channel, you will likely need to apply/save changes before you are prompted to restart the router.
Let us know how it goes!
All the best,
Kariza
