Re: Premiere 3920X no longer sees all available networks

Hey @robkei

Thanks for the post.

If you are getting an error code or message, refer to this link for common Roku error codes and their recommended actions: How to connect your Roku device to the internet using Wi-Fi or Ethernet

Furthermore, please be advised that Roku Premiere is only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum. Ensure that your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to.

You can also try configuring your router and use wireless channels 1, 6, or 11 which are the preferred channels in North America. Each time you change the wireless channel, you will likely need to apply/save changes before you are prompted to restart the router.

Please keep us posted.

All the best,
Kariza

Re: Premiere 3920X no longer sees all available networks

@robkei

Are you using Xfinity Internet with an Xfinity Gateway device? If so, Xfinity has been, for some reason, changing the 2.4 GHz settings from b/g/n to g/n, which won't work. Check that, and put it back to b/g/n and see if it starts working again.

Some other ISPs have been doing the same one, but Xfinity if usually the culprit when this issue is reported here.

Re: Premiere 3920X no longer sees all available networks

The g/n vs b/g/n switch typically doesn't prevent the Roku from finding the network -- the Roku finds the network and reports on signal strength but then it can't connect..

But another router change being reported turns off the router's 2.4 GHz wifi band, leaving only the 5 GHz band.  Since the Premiere has a single band wifi radio that can only see the 2.4 GHz band, this will keep the Premiere from finding the network.  This has been reported on equipment supplied by Xfinity and Cox but there might be others.  If you have access to your router's control panel make sure the 2.4 GHz band is enabled.  If not, you may have to ask your internet provider to do this for you.
