Not connecting through “hotel or dorm connect”

Hi! i bought a hisense roku tv and we live in college apartments. we are following all the steps necessary to get it up and working but it seems that the tv just does not want to connect and the “software update” doesn’t work either. how can we fix this? we just bought the tv from costco today so it is very new

You can't use hotel/dorm connect until the TV is set up.  Try using your phone's hotspot and connect to that just to get through the initial setup and then try hotel/dorm connect to connect to your school/dorm network.
