In a non-home location, I can log in to internet no problem with my Mac computers and iphone on a dedicated wifi connection with a password. I have two Roku units, but neither of them indicate there is an internet connection. and cannot connect with content providers.
What must be done to make Roku operate?
Is this non-home location one where you log into a gateway page in your internet browser using a computer/table/phone to establish its contact to the internet?
If so Roku can't do that directly because it has no internet browser. Roku has created a work-around for this, which involves connecting a WiFi-equipped computer/tablet/phone to the Roku via WiFi-direct and using the web browser to reach the gateway page THROUGH the Roku. The internet connection thus set up will be for the Roku.
See this page for information on this "Hotel & Dorm connect" option:

All current models should support Hotel & Dorm connect. Some older models may not. I have not been able to find a list of which models no longer being sold do and don't support this.
Thanks for your response. Yes, I did indeed tried that ... I got a code to use but when I entered it the message was that it was an invalid code .
I think I need a newer Roku box with that capability, then it may work as advertised.
