We lost our roku remote a while back and have been using the mobile app.. however, we recently got a new internet provider and now our roku isn’t hooked up to the same network as my phone so I can’t use my remote and without a remote I can’t change the network.. can someone at roku reset it or something .. I may just need to buy a new remote but if I didn’t have to that’s be great
You need a remote. The app only works if the Roku and the phone are on the network. You can't get on the network until you use the remote to do that.
Which Roku do you have? Model number would be helpful.

I apologize, I’m not 100% sure which one as I bought it used. I know it’s a simple base model I guess... again I apologize
Is it a stick?

No..
It’s this little guy... don’t mind the dust, we haven’t used this tv due to not having the remote
That looks like a Roku Express, although it could be a Premiere.
Regardless, both will use IR remotes. That's good news. You can run to Family Dollar, Walmart, Best Buy, CVS, Walgreens, or any place that carries cheap universal remotes. Just find one that includes Roku as a supported device -- that's most of them -- and use it to set it up.
Once you get it set up, you can use the app again. I still recommend a Roku remote, but the cheap universal remote will suffice if you so choose. If you decide to get a Roku remote later, let us know the model number (Settings > System > About) and we can guide you on that.
But, for now, run to town, spend $5-10, and set your Roku up tonight.

We have another roku remote buts it’s for our actual roku tv. Is there a way to set that one up?
Don't know. Take in there and see. It won't break anything.
I'm thinking the TV remotes are different, but if it works, you only need it long enough to connect to the network.
