New Xfinity router/modem...

Xfinity said I needed to upgrade/switch my modem so I did. Neither of my Roku devices will connect to the network. SSID and password are correct. Error 014.30. I have done all troubleshooting tips with no success. Please help.

Hi @Suzicue1969

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community.

Since your internet service provider is Xfinity, we would recommend changing your router settings for the 2.4 GHz band from g/n to b/g/n, as customers have stated that this helped resolve their issue.

Let us know if this works for you!

All the best,

Newer Xfinity routers do not support b or let you change the mode. Is there some other solution as I have started to have this same issue starting today.

They do support B, but as you've discovered Comcast has you locked out of the setting. You can ask them to make the change, and perhaps you can convince them to do it. What I did instead is to put the Xfinity Gateway in bridge mode and use my own router. Then Comcast has no control over my home network settings. I fought them for months trying to get port forwarding set up, and while they insisted every time they fixed it for me, it never worked. But it's cheaper for me to rent their modem and get unlimited data than paying for my own modem and then paying for the unlimited data package. $5 per month cheaper, as a matter of fact.

Re: New Xfinity router/modem...

@Suzicue1969

Instructions for the various cable ISP routers are below.

------

Instructions for Changing the Router/Gateway Settings….

Xfinity / Comcast → ( https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi ) with a walkthrough ( https://community.roku.com/t5/Network-Wireless-Wired-Connections/Error-014-30-stuck-for-three-days/m...)

Cox → (https://www.cox.com/residential/support/managing-your-in-home-network-with-my-wifi.html)

AT&T → (https://www.att.com/support/article/u-verse-high-speed-internet/KM1046172). You can select your appropriate router from the drop down menu.

--------

If you do not see the standard "Edit" screen for your 2.4ghz settings, then you may need to see if these changes are located under the "Advanced" screen for some Xfinity/Comcast firmware admin GUIs.
