Help... Just purchased a new Roku Express (because the old one randomly stopped working and would no longer connect to the wireless network even after factory reset).. and I can't even connect on the initial set up screen to get to a home page and try the other "tricks" I've found for system set up. Any suggestions how to set up new Roku when it won't recognize the wireless connection (and yes...password is correct?).
Make sure the router is broadcasting 2.4GHz and is set for b/g/n mode/protocols. (Not just g/n.)
Routers often receive automatic updates and lately some (especially ISP-rented ones) have had updates that turned 2.4GHz off entirely or set the 2.4GHz modes to g/n only. If you change this, you might find that both Rokus work.
How do I find out if this is the case and/or change the mode on my router?
Normally you can login to your admin using any web browser or using the accompanying ISP's app.
If you have Xfinity/Comcast, you can use the Xfi app or login to your router in web browser by typing in 10.0.0.1 in the address bar. (https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi?linkId=144447011).
If you have Comcast, you can login to your router either through the website (https://login.cox.com/ or typing in 192.168.0.1 in the address bar)
Feel free to post back if you need more help. Include router model number and your ISP (internet provider)
