So I have 2 TCL Roku tv’s that are about 4 months old. I was having wireless connection issues previously with the one in my bedroom and tech support had me remove power and restart. After a few google searches I realized I was going to have to do this regularly.
I’ve away for 3 weeks and now I can’t get my bedroom TCL Roku to connect to my home internet and I get Error Code 014.30. I’ve reset my router and reset my network connection. I’ve removed power and tried to reconnect with no luck. My other TCL connects with no issues. I can connect my bedroom TCL to the hotspot on my phone so I know it has the ability to connect. Roku seems to have a lot of connectivity issues. Please help!
14.30 is usually inability to connect to internet error. It can also sometimes be a password error, but usually internet.
Since the RokuTVs are dual band (capable of using either 2.4 ghz or 5ghz band), I think you have a two-fold issue. I think the likely culprit may be that your router has automatically switched to an unsupported wireless channel on your 5ghz band, and that there is also a network setting error on your 2.4 ghz band that won't let you connect to that one either.
Essentially, you want to pay attention to the Mode/Protocol settings mentioned in the 2.4 ghz band and manually assign a wireless channel in the 5ghz band.
You will need to login to your router and verify that the 'Wireless Settings" are similar to the below settings...
2.4 ghz band - Radio is ON/Enabled, SSID is ON/Broadcasting, Channel 1 -11 (preferably manually assigned to 1, 6, or 11 rather than "Auto", Mode/Protocol set to b/g/n, and Bandwidth/Channel Width is set to 20mhz.
5ghz band - Radio is ON/Enabled, SSID is ON/Broadcasting, Channel 36-48, or 149-161 rather than "Auto" (Roku cannot see or use DFS channels 52-140) and Bandwidth/ Channel Width is set to 20 mhz.
If all the above looks correct in your settings, then on the problem RokuTV, navigate to Settings..System..Advanced System Settings..Network Connection Reset..Reset Connection. After the RokuTV restarts, you should be able to hopefully connect again.
Feel free to post more particulars if still having issues, especially router model number, ISP (internet provider), and any additional errors you are seeing on screen.
work for 2 weeks no problem now error 014.30 try every thing
