Do I have to put in an activation code every time I switch over to my cable channels from my RokuTV or is there a way that I don’t have to do this?
thanks
Generally, that's not required.
I'm assuming you still have cable? You aren't using a live streaming service?
If that's the case, there are circumstances that can cause re-authentication to be required. The reasons vary.
Sometimes, it's an app with bad data. There's a solution for that.
Sometimes, it's because login credentials are shared across various locations. There's a solution for that.
Sometimes, it's because the app is poorly written. There's not much to do about that.
So, come details might be helpful.
What apps are you experiencing the issue? Name 3-5.
What cable apps are you NOT experiencing the issue? Name 3-5.
Let us know and we'll see if anything points to a particular cause and possible solution.
Oh, one more thing: How many Roku devices do you have?

We have cable and a Roku TV. I use the “watch through cable” option to watch CBS and it’s seems I have to get another activation code quite often. Maybe it has a time limit.
CBS is it? Are you aware you can get live and on-demand CBS, including local affiliate programming, through the $10/month Paramount+ app? Seriously, if the only reason you’re keeping cable is CBS, there are cheaper ways.
