I'm seem to have a very odd connection issue

Jump to solution

I have two rokus in my bedroom, the first I've had for about 5 years and it suddenly just quit connectting to the Wi-Fi at home so I got the new Roku Express back in November and after a few months it quick connecting to the house Wi-Fi but when the express quit connecting the older Roku started to connect again then it worked for a couple months now neither one of them will connect  to the Wi-Wi at home. I have two phones that'll connect to the Wi-Fi just fine and both the roku's will connect to]] the Wi-Fi hotspot on either one of my phones. Unfortunately I run out of data real quick using my mobile hotspot so it's really not an option anybody experienced anything like this and have any ideas on fix?

@Foater64

If you have a cable ISP like AT&T, Cox, or Xfinity/Comcast, you may be experiencing a connection issue when these routers are configured to use the wireless mode g/n.  Try changing the wireless mode in your router to b/g/n.  Then restart both your Roku device and your router.

Instructions for changing the mode.

Xfinity / Comcast → ( https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/change-wifi-mode-admin-tool-xfinity-xfi ) with a walkthrough ( https://community.roku.com/t5/Network-Wireless-Wired-Connections/Error-014-30-stuck-for-three-days/m...)

Cox → (https://www.cox.com/residential/support/managing-your-in-home-network-with-my-wifi.html)

AT&T → (https://www.att.com/support/article/u-verse-high-speed-internet/KM1046172). You can select your appropriate router from the drop down menu.

If still having issues or the above is not applicable, post back with your Roku model numbers (Settings/System/About) for both your devices, your Router model number, and your ISP (internet service provider).
