got new SIM card in router and roku didn't see my network. Appears most roku's only see 2.4G networks. I needed to change my router to send out 2.4G and 5G. It was difficult finding the info on web. I did a search for 'Changing (my router) to 2.4G and 5G (you only need 2.4G). Followed the instructions and finally got what roku needed.
In the current product line, only the Roku Express is limited to the 2.4 GHz WiFi band. All other products (including the relatively new Express 4K/4K+ models) support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
Other recent models no longer in the current line with 2.4 GHz support only are the Express+ and Premiere/Premiere+.
This became an issue recently when some routers (reported from Xfinity and Cox, but there may be others) received updates that turned the router's 2.4 GHz wifi band turned off, leaving only the 5 GHz band operational.
