How to fix Roku devices not finding or connecting to my home Wi-Fi

Jump to solution

All of a sudden all of my Roku devices (2 Ultra and Express) suddenly all disconnected from my Wi-Fi. I have Verizon Fios. All of them are unable to even detect my home wi-fi yet my laptop, phones, etc. All connect to the wi-fi with no issues.

I can connect to my hotspot through my mobile device but it cannot detect my wireless connection. And yes, I have restarted my Roku, modem and even unplugged everything for 10 minutes with NOTHING CHANGING. I even did a factory reset on one to see if that may be the culprit. Still unable to detect my Wi-Fi on any Roku device.

I contacted Fios and they stated it was a Roku issue.

For a factory reset, the tech recommended to do it manually instead of through the myFIOS phone app. I asked the difference, and it comes down to digital vs. analog.

To do the factory reset, depress the indented button (the one that requires a paperclip or pen) on the back of the ROUTER. Depress that for 15-20 seconds.

When it boots back up, your wireless networks should revert back to the factory name(s) and password(s). The name and password can be found on the back of your router. If not, tech support should be able to supply those as well.

No guarantee, but this worked for at least two of us so far. It seems Fios or Roku released a patch that affected only Fios users in this specific way. Again, simple solution to a frustrating problem

This has always worked for me.  Try this, in this order:

  • Restart your router (even if other devices have no problem finding and connecting).
  • Restart the Roku to clear its memory via Settings > System > System restart (for a Roku TV it's Settings > System > Power > System restart)
  • Find and connect to your network via Settings> Network > Set up connection

If that doesn't fix it, try disconnecting the power to your Roku for a few seconds.  When it comes back up, see if you then can set up the network connection.

Did all of that, still not working. My IP address for my Roku Ultra is now also 0.0.0.0

I have having the same issues with our ROKU streaming sticks. We are also with Fios, but all of our other devices are fine. I have rebooted everything more times than I can count in the past 1 1/2 hours

Having the same problem as well. Was working perfectly fine yesterday and now it won’t even find our home internet although everything else is still connected just fine. We have 3 roku tvs and all are having the same problem. Tried factory reset, rebuilding my router and everything multiple times.

Add another "Not Active" Roku Ultra & Roku Express that was connected to Verizon Fios last night and woke up to disconnected devices.

I have restarted my router and Roku, unplugged and replugged my Roku, tried entering my information in as a "Private Network" and nothing is working.

I have 4 devices that are active on my Fios network when yesterday, I had 8. Not sure if it is a Fios or a Roku issue as 2 of the disconnected devices are not Roku, but this is unsettling to say the least.
