How do I get my Hisense Roku tv to connect to wifi without having the physical remote available?

I lost my Roku remote and my tv network was reset now I cannot reconnect to wifi because I no longer have the remote. How can I fix this? Why are there no manual controls on the Hisense?

Hello @bayjay81

Thanks for the post.

Please be advised that remotes for Roku TVs are manufactured directly by the TV manufacturer. We would recommend reaching out to the TV manufacturer's customer support team to report the issue and get help.

In general, from reading other threads, I think the answer to getting connected without a remote is to get a remote.  As for the question of why no buttons on the TV – most likely it reduces costs and people buy them.  (Because when shopping, probably more people want the lower price than the backup if the remote gets lost.)

All Roku TVs will support any of the Roku Voice remotes.  You may be able to find these locally at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, etc, or of course at Amazon and from Roku itself. These are point-anywhere remotes that connect to the TV via WiFi-direct, and must be paired to the TV to enable it to communicate.

Also, infrared (IR) Roku TV remotes from any Roku TV manufacturer are largely interchangeable and be used with Roku TVs from other manufacturers*.

  • * NOTE: Remotes from HiSense and Sharp can only be used with HiSense and Sharp Roku TVs because they issue a different set of IR commands than the rest of the Roku TV manufacturers.  The Roku TVs from HiSense and Sharp, though, support both sets of IR commands so they can be used with remotes from any Roku TV manufacturer.)

Thanks to @Tivoburkee for this info.
