I've been trying to connect my Roku tv to my dorms internet. I've already input the MAC address and everything goes smoothly until I'm told to launch a browser after connecting to the Direct Roku wifi. When I launch the browser nothing happens. It doesn't reroute me to any log in pages so the process just stops and I'm unable to connect.
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide a screenshot of the issue you are experiencing so we can better understand the issue you are seeing?
If you are still unable to resolve the issue, can you please provide the serial number/device ID on your Roku device? I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
Is there a SPR or something tracking this software issue that we can track? Does this SPR have a planned release date?
@RokuDanny-R I'm in a Marriott right now and have the same problem. I've used this device before with hotel connect without issue, but I think this is the first time with 10.5. My last trip I had a wired connection in my hotel room, so my travel router connected and I authenticated through another device.
Roku device model: Express 4K+ 3941X
serial number: X0160040NDNS
device ID: S07P5140NDNS
OS/version: 10.5.0 build 4201-CR
When attempting to connect to the hotel wireless, it simply sees everything connect and returns two green checkmarks. The query asking if I'm in a hotel or dorm never appears. However, if you test the network connection, it states it's not connected. Even though it shows a connection, no channel will connect. Connecting to my phone hotspot is allowing me to use the Roku as desired.
