Recently tried to connect a Roku - Streaming Stick+ 4K to a netgear AX5400 wireless router, it's an AX Wi-Fi-6 device. The Roku - Streaming Stick+ 4K can't see the routers 5G network. I've seen this with older HW, either it didn't matter since 2.4GHZ was ok for them or a device driver update fixed the problem. Not so with the Roku - Streaming Stick+ 4K. Definitely want to use the 5G network in this case. No change after updating the Roku's SW. Roku support gave up after a couple of hrs and said they would send an email with the results of investigation. Is this a problem with all Wi-Fi 6 routers (probably) or just with the AX5400 (unlikely)?
Make sure you're not using a DFS channel. Use a channel 48 or below or 149 or above.
Using channel 36 currently.
Sorry renojim, I just realized you said not to use DFS channel. Roku chat support on other hand wanted me to use DFS channels above 136.
36 should be fine. In the US, DFS channels are from 50 to 144. I would argue that the chat person was wrong.
I had the same problem.
what I did was turn off the 5g then connect the Roku. Once I was connected I turned the 5g back on and it work. Haven’t had any problem’s so far.
Lmao I just realized this post is SO 2020😵💫
