Delayed surround sound with tuner and Roku premiere stick

Have a Samsung TV, Roku Premiere stick, a Yamaha RX V673 tuner. Connected via HDMI Roku to tuner. Configured TV for for specific port.  Problem is surround sound will not kick in for about 5 to 10 minutes after all is powered on. Why the delay ???
