Re: Connection to both Roku lost and will not return despite all trouble shooting

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the posts.

In addition to the information that @renojim has provided regarding your ISP, I would recommend checking out our Support page for troubleshooting issues here: What should I do if I cannot connect to my home network or the internet?

Please answer the following questions so we can get a better understanding of what you are seeing:

- Have you ensured your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to? The Roku Express/Premiere is only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum.
- Have you tried changing the wireless broadcast channel on the router to see if this will allow your device to connect?
- Have you tried moving the device closer to your router to see if you can get connected?
- How long have you been experiencing this problem?

If those things still aren't helping, feel free to provide us with the serial number of your Roku from Settings>System>About along with the answers to the above questions and I'll be able to assist you further from there.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: Connection to both Roku lost and will not return despite all trouble shooting

Hi Danny, appreciate the reply.  To answer your questions:

1. Yes, I have confirmed 2.4 GHz is working properly.  I can see many other devices connected over 2.4 GHz to my AP.

2. Yes, tried multiple channels including both 6 and 11, but 2.4 GHz has always been set to Auto without problem.

3. I have not tried moving the Roku closer.  The Roku has been in the same spot for years without an issue.  There is a Wi-Fi enabled wall switch directly behind the Roku on 2.4 GHz which is working fine.  Not seeing any of my neighbors Wi-Fi SSID's like I used to either.

4. This issue started maybe two weeks ago.

SN of my device is YG00FH335732.

This suggestion was the best one. I have looked up so many different solutions and yours was the first one to point out the b,g,n for the broadcast channel. My roku is working again.
