Cannot connect new device to internet

Brand new device.  It detects my networks, but I cannot connect to them.  Tried many times, retyping the password, but keep getting the 014.14 error. Moved it to be beside the routers, and reset the device, but still cannot connect.

Re: Cannot connect new device to internet

If you have a router from Comcast/Xfinity or Cox go into your router's settings and change the wireless mode from g/n to b/g/n.

Re: Cannot connect new device to internet

I've gone into advanced settings and there is not an option to choose 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi settings.  I assume this is where I would change g/n to b/g/n, but I do not have that option as this is a new Xfinity router (new as in the last year)

There is a possibility that your router may be automatically managed (no end-user configuration permitted).

In this case, you will have to call the ISP (internet provider) to have them configure your router, or purchase your own router and replace this one (or incorporate into the network) so you can make the necessary changes.
